A Little Info About Taylor's

I haven't been updating anything recently becoz :
A) I cant properly explain how everything is YET (at the time)
B) Nothing reaaaaaally exciting happened. And i dont intent to just crap nonsense here just for the sake of doing it. Eg: Im feeling so sad today. Im bored. Im hungry. It just isnt the way I like to write.

But after 2 weeks of moving down to Kuala Lumpur, finding a home, getting through the first week of ORIENTATION at Taylor's University, getting through the first SCHOOLING week of Taylor's University, I finally feel I have sufficient things to say to valid a post here.

Pretty pic taken from google
For those who don't know, I transferred to Taylor's to pursue a degree in BA: Mass Communication & Media Management for the February 21st intake.

Finding a room to stay around here is not easy, not if you want your own space, cleanliness, good access to hawker/sundry items, and reliable transportation. Rooms will cost you on average RM400++, and even if you share, it will still be around RM300++ (and that would be in deplorable situations). Don't be surprised to hear students paying RM900++ for a master room with attached bathroom.

In the end, with immense help from an OLD band alumni, I finally found a room located 10 minutes walk to school, and 15 minutes to shopping centres, hawker foods, grocery stores and more. It really is very convenient. (I wanted to take a picture of my room for you guys, but no matter how i took it, it still looked like crap and extremely dull, so too bad!)

I know alot of my juniors are pondering what to study and where to go and may probably be interested in Taylor's. So I guess i might as well share what Taylor's introduces you in the first 2 weeks of uni.

Your first week here will be your ORIENTATION week. This means a chance to go to campus, be ushered into MPH (no, not the bookstore chain, its short for MULTI-PURPOSE HALL), where a bunch of lecturers will welcome you to Taylor's while explaining the facilities, the system, the various academic divisions etc etc.

After the Hall lecture, you will be guided to your respective Degree/Diploma lectures around campus, where you will receive more talks etc etc. The important thing to do though is to line up for a photoshoot session so that you can create your student ID card, and also to sign up for your clubs and activities (i joined Tennis, Badminton, and Symphonic Orchestra).

After that, you're essentially free until your second week which is when school starts.

There's not much to be said. The lecturers are fun and lively (distinctively remembering a lecturer saying "No, I'm not gay, I'm straight. Like a tiger. Rawrrrr") while the students are your usual bunch of leng luis, cool guys, nerds, technophiles, and more leng luis. And yes, i look forward to getting to know them (dont ever say I didn't admit im a pervert!)

The GREAT thing about Taylor's though, if you're interested to study here, is that they have a DEVELOPING TOWN's student grant, meaning that if you come from any of the "towns" located in their list, you can apply for a massive 30% DISCOUNT off your school fees. Short of getting a full scholarship, this is AWESOME for students when it comes to picking their unis. And yes, SITIAWAN is considered a developing town still :D

So that's about it for now. "Life" in KL has been steady, albeit abit hard to get chances to play sports. I've had the pleasure of meeting CHRISTY HII for the first time (by running in the rain to meet her no less), and TIM was sweet to meet me for dinner and help me with shopping as well. JOSEPHINE lives super nearby as well (always helpful AUNTIE), while KONG BOON and JENSON work in close proximity also. So it looks like i wont be running out of friends to kacao at least. ^^

Bike POWER!!!!!

And yeah, the pic above is awesome isnt it? :D

For those who recognize it, its my trusty racing bike that i brought down from SITIAWAN!! 7 years old and still like new. Standing proud and tall among all the campus motorbikes there. I just KNOW that the students there are jealous of me :P

That's all for now. I left out alot of specific details and info regarding accomodations etc, so if you have a question to ask, just comment below, and I'll get to you. ;)

P.S Nan Hwa having a marching test this month? Very nice. Just dont fail k? All of ya? >.<"
