Photo by Swen Yin ^^Last night was Nan Hwa's 2010 Passing Out. I was given the honor of conducting the junior band, but i messed up my first ever performance courtesy of an idiot tuba player who shall remain nameless but his name starts with Lu and ends with Jia Seng.
It was fast, it was short. I'm sure plenty of the aged out graduates can write a better recap of the night. All I can say is that its nice to finally be able to perform together with the band after being apart for 5 years.
Trumpeters had their mandatory "Hide Behind The School Hall Curtain Gathering Session"
As usual, the graduates were provided with the annual gifts from juniors.
No idea what Shin Yun got, but Swee Kai got a model motorbike, Jiaxun got a pair of EDWIN underwear, and Haiteng got a very nice gay pink hawaian floral shirt. Qin wei got a bottle of hair wax =.=""" and i got a Rubiks cube =.=" I DONT KNOW HOW TO SOLVE A RUBIKS CUBE DAMNIT! >.<""
I didnt have my camera, only my Iphone, so I dont have the pics taken with most of the members. But i do have the pics taken with my juniors ;)
The post-passing out meal gathering at McD saw around 25-30 members being there. McD had very good business considering it would have otherwise been a slow Tuesday night. Even Mr Tan, his wife, his daughter and son came along, accompanied as well by Josephine, a part of the first batch to ever graduate from NH band. Mr Chang also came along, apparently it being his last time he spends time with us as a teacher advisor to the band :(Percussion section had very challenging gifts for the seniors to open.
Zongxu was on a high, while Xiao Wa was very close to punching out Huiming while struggling to open her gift. I have to say, i admire how insanely well wrapped the juniors packed the gifts =.=""
But looks like it was worth the effort getting to the gifts in the end. Xiao Wa (i was told to call her M head, cause her hair is shaped like the letter M) got a DOMO thingy and a cute plush dog toy, and Huiming (im personally going to call her Stapler head, also because of her hair) got a Hello Kitty phone that actually works. Zongxu after battling hard to get to his gift, only found a sweet at first, but was given his real gift (a hoodie) later.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The trip to Marina Bay at 1am that night was fun.
Mainly because there was plenty to gossip about with so many people around, and also because there was so much things we could make fun of. People lying in the sand, people rolling down hills. It was just nice ^^Haven't been home this late in a while (around 4am by the time i got home). But i look forward to the next time this happens again. :)
