Beckoning in the New Year

New Year's Eve this year was fun ^^

A gang compromised of Zongxu, Rachel, Jessica, Benjamin, Mariane, Hui Bao, Huei Pei, Hansiang, Ksin, Sin Houng (and her form 5 bunch), combined with meeting friends at Marina Island such as Ivy Har, Fiona etc made it quite memorable.

Dinner was at McD (AGAIN?), and we tried to head towards Marina Cove to take a peek at the bikini party there. Unfortunately, tickets cost RM90 and above, and we could barely see anything inside. I did see some girls dancing on stage in bikinis, and so it was with a heavy heart I had to leave for Marina Island instead (damn all you short friends who cant see over fences!!)

Reaching there, was suprised to find a huge line of cars. Turns out there was another party going on as well, with promise of fireworks and music. Paid the RM3 parking fee, and walked in to check things out.

Walking in, we saw the entrance to the party. Looking like the professional that i was *dress in long sleeves and jeans with a big ass camera around my neck*, the security guard did not question me as i strode in confidently into the party along with Sin Houngs gang of friends *who all look like adults as well*. Turns out, we actually had to pay RM50 at the least to get in. Benjamin and the rest could not get in because of their babyfaces. ^^

Free beer nabbed immediately by Kah Hui and James Low ^^

Soon it became apparent that almost all the performances were the same dancers from the Christmas Eve Dinner the other night. So i guess i would have been effing mad if i had paid that RM50. Phew!

I became bored soon though, and we all headed into Secret Recipe (yes its finally open) to wait for the countdown.

A tip for those who want a drink at Secret Recipe. If you want real value and quantity for your money, please dont order the EXPRESS drinks. They come served in TINY cups that you can finish in a single gulp (bottom pic above). Much better to spend that extra RM1 and get a much more satisfying drink. Thanks to Ksin for suffering for us and finding out the hard way.

New Year countdown was loud, and I think many different places had different times, becoz fireworks was going on somewhere else while ours havent started. But when it did, it was quite nice (since i have never been so close to fireworks before).


Met Fiona and her family there, as well as Xing Hui from percussion. Also saw Justin (ANOTHER Justin) and Danny, Ivy Har, spotted Sukim and her bf, but couldn't get to talk to them. Thanks to Fiona, my memory of New Year was quite fun (mostly becoz i shot her face full of aerosol snow when she wasn't aware ^^

The highlight of the night was taking couple shots of Zongxu and his Girlfriend though.

Gasp! Hands over shoulders?? Holding hands??Whats is this? So romantic??

Yes yes, i know its very sweet and that i could probably profit alot from selling these photographs to them, but I've chosen to distribute it here freely instead. All I can say is, Happy New Year to you two and may you have many happy awkward moments together.^^

Something that I have never experienced in Sitiawan.


A massive 1 hour jam from Marina Island/Marina Cove/Lumut heading back towards Sitiawan. And of course, this is all thanks to our local police enforcement. F!!

But overall, a sweet night. I managed to call friends important to me to wish them all the best, and while not everyone's phones managed to get my call, at least i thought to call em. I also summoned the bravery to call a few females, and thankfully they didn't turn me away.
